This is work I've done this year. I find ratty old furniture and refurbish the pieces and then use a variety of transfer techniques to apply these fine art images which I spill out from, painting above, below and up and around until I have a spectacular piece. Part mine and part master artist from days gone by.
I found an old empty clock case, and decided it needed a tableau inside. I created the flying lady using Sculpey clay, and hung her on ribbons from the old clock work wheels at the top of the case. I painted the interior and decoupaged Klimt's Orpheus image across the bottom inside the piece, then painted off of it to make it my own. The dove at the top is a Dover image.
